Madison county affair

As we spoke of Meryl Streep in "Sophie's Choice", here is another movie where her potrayal of Francesca Johnson was amazing. And to back her up is the incredible Clint Eastwood . So its a double treat. The Bridges of Madison County is a 1995 movie directed by Clint Eastwood which won Oscar nomination for Streep in 1996.
Movie is a beautiful romantic affair between a housewife and a photographer which lasts only for 5 days. Streep plays italian and her accent is (again like sophie's choice) completely italian. Movie starts with Francesca's son and daughter going through her diary which is of the time when the siblings and their father(Francesca's husband) went to a fair for five days. These 5 days are the one where she meets Robert Kincaid,a National Geographic Photographer who is making a documentry on the nearby bridges. She agrees to help him with direction and also invites for dinner and iced tea and thus a love affair starts. At the end of the 5th day, Francesca stands in a complex situation and forced to choose.
Looks like a rather simple story but the narration is beautiful and its this simple story which we can call love. This a must watch for both Streep and Eastwood fans and a must must watch for all those who once have been in love or are in love. A mature love story with a lovely narration is Bridges of Madison County in a single sentence.

Varsha

Meryl Streep is a goddess.

I recently happened to watch 'Sophie's choice', the movie that won Meryl Streep her second Oscar. The movie begins with Stingo(Peter MacNicol) moving to Brooklyn, into a strikingly pink house. His first meeting with the Polish Sophie and Nathan, is intense. Sophie and Nathan (Meryl and Kelvin Kline) are a  flamboyant couple, flamboyant in their love, who befriend Stingo .They turn into some sort an awesome threesome. The movie  keeps one guessing about Sophie's haunting past. Time and again, Nathan's unstable mind dictates the very submissive Sophie's actions.Meanwhile, Stingo turns into a comfort cushion for Sophie. She confides in him her terrible past, what the Holocaust had wrecked and the dreaded choice she had to make. She conveys her past with ease and emptiness. Kelvin and Peter play their part to a T. Streep's impeccable Polish accent is something to watch out for.All in all, Meryl Streep conquered the movie and I was floored. She rightly deserved the Oscar.

Hi
I am Varsha. A 20 year old movie freak and lover who just needs some reason to watch movies anytime. For me movies are like morphine and yes i am an addict. A movie addict. Thats pretty surprising, for me atleast coz i  understood myself as the one "who's too lazy to get addicted to anything". But then one day a movie came into my life and alas i fell for it. Now my condition is that whenevr i'm sad i watch movies, when i am happy i watch movies, when i want to kill time i watch movies and when i am a tense i watch movies.
So i wanted to try blogging and came up with the idea- what do i know better than movies? Nothing!! So  here's the plan-everyday i'm gonna share one movie with my blog and hope that my blog shares the same with others. And those "others" can discuss with me about their movie experience and post their suggestions. And please recommend movies to me so that my addiction remains stable.
P.S: Any kind of movies hindi, english, french, spanish, iranian, german, japanese, korean, bengali, cantonese etc etc etc are welcomed for recommendation coz now in this internet era language is definately not a barrier for anyone.
Bye and thank you for my first blog.
